Dr. Yu grew up in Florida and graduated from the University of Miami, where she completed a honor’s program in medicine (accelerated 6-year combined Bachelors of Science in Biology and Degree in Medicine).

After completing her residency in Family Medicine at Tufts University, Dr. Yu worked as a family physician at Signature Healthcare for over 20 years. While at Signature, she served as an Associate Chief of Primary Care and Associate Medical Director of her organization’s ACO (Accountable Care Organization) where she focused on quality of care and patient satisfaction. Dr. Yu also served as the Vice President of Signature Medical Group’s Board of Directors.

She has been a clinical instructor for Tufts Department of Family Medicine and she served as a preceptor in the Signature Residency Program.

Dr. Yu is committed to excellence in all aspects of patient care. In January 2025, she was awarded the UnitedHealthcare Hero award, which was bestowed upon only 60 Massachusetts physicians this year, for excellence in patient experience. Dr. Yu has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and she has been featured as a 2026 Boston magazine Top Doctor™ in Family Medicine.

She holds board certifications by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.

Dr. Yu lives in Newton with her husband and 3 daughters. In her free time, Dr. Yu enjoys skiing, running, and traveling; however, she can most often be found acting as chauffeur for her children’s various activities.
